Who creates the commitment photo?

The action shot of the athlete with the school name and mascot/logo at the bottom that is put out on social media...who creates that?

The kid, his buddy, or in too many cases, the over-involved parent! Schools do not publish who is a commit until the NLI is signed (for those getting money) in the spring of senior year. Most do not announce their class until kids show up in the fall.

This is D3, no NLI.

My kid’s school formally lists all recruits in the spring off senior year.

The school.

Whether D1 or D3, the school sets up the “ceremony”. It’ll take “official” pictures but so will the proud parents and friends of the signee. The school, the signee, the travel/club team and Auntie June will then blast the picture out on social media. Proud moment deserves such recognition.

A study in contrast - for football or basketball, the college will often take the official photo. For lax, it’ll be the high school whether D1 or D3. Don’t go changing lax! There is something still charming about this.
