| I have secondary infertility and am starting clomid next cycle. Can anyone tell me about their personal experiences with it? Also I was told to take it days 5-9, is that typical timing? |
|
Yes, it’s common to take it CD5-9.
First cycle I was on 100mg and had too high a risk of multiples, so that cycle was “cancelled.” Next cycle on 50mg I had right amount of follicles. Cycle after that lining was too thin, so I switched to letrozole. Got pregnant but it was a chemical. Now we’re moving to IVF. At the time I didn’t notice any side effects, although looking back it’s possible it was increasing my depression. |
| It's just as common to take it cd 3-7. I have PCOS and took 50mg CD 3-7 each time. I always have a crop of immature eggs, and the RE wanted a nice quality egg. I also ate avocados all cycle long to ensure a nice thick lining and the RE was always very impressed by my thick lining. I took clomid for two cycles and nothing. Then got pregnant naturally and had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. Then, immediately did clomid the next cycle and am 24 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy. |

I had secondary infertility. Did one round of clomid, days 4-8, then estradiol until ovulation. Was a successful pregnancy.

| Secondary infertility due to luteal phase defect. Took 50mg for 1 round and ended up with triplets. |
PCOS poster again. Damn!!! What days did you take it? |
| I have diminished ovarian reserve. I used Clomid during my first IUI. I think I took it days 3-7, but I have heard of people taking it days 5-9. I ovulate regularly, and Clomid didn't seem to make a difference for me as only had one mature follicle. My lining was also very thin that cycle (4 mm), which I know is a common issue with Clomid. Unfortunately Clomid also made me slightly suicidal. It creeps up on you so watch out for that a definitely tell your nurse if you have any thoughts of suicide. I did not get pregnant that cycle. |
| I took days 5-9. Once I started taking it, I felt like I hit a wall of depression. It was especially noticeable because I had been in such a good place weeks before that. |
Wow! Were you being monitored? |
| I had twins with clomid |
| The letrozole multiples rate is lower than clomid, I believe - can anyone confirm? |
