using secondary insurance with MDIPA?

Has anyone used secondary insurance while on MDIPA (as primary)? I"m considering switching to MDIPA for their IUI/IVF coverage, but was wondering if my husband stayed with BC/BS, whether they would help pick up the costs for diagnostic testing or meds that MDIPA only covers at 50% (and for which I'm currently only paying BC/BS's $30 co-pay).
