Someone is finally running against Herrity!

IMHO, Fairfax County Supervisor Pat Herrity is a relic of a bygone era. I'm so glad to see someone finally running against him--a woman named Linda Sperling. She seems like a strong candidate, and she is a mom of two kids.

She’s been declared for a while now. I know her. She is a great person and I can’t wait to help get her elected to the County Board.

There are also currently 2 declared candidates for the School Board spot currently held by Elizabeth Schultz.

Springfield district is going to have Dem reps after next year’s election at the County level.

Herrity pissed me off with the meals tax. Because he actively campaigned against it, it didnt pass. So my property taxes were increased to make up for the revenue. We would have spent a LOT less on the meals tax than we are paying now in property taxes.

John Cook is retiring also, so Braddock will also have a Dem supervisor elected next year (Im assuming). Connolly’s Chief of Staff is running, so I dont see how someone with the backing of the mighty Gerry Connolly could lose in Ffx Co.

I've always liked Herrity and I remember how great the area was when his dad was in office oh so many years ago.

John Cook seems to be a decent individual who really cared about making things better for his community.

I thought John Cook seemed good also. But then his law firm represented the Sheriffs office when someone died in their custody, and that seemed like a sketchy conflict of interest.
