| A few community meetings are scheduled for parents to voice their thoughts on what programs should be available at MCPS High Schools. Here's the link: https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/mainstory/story/614069/Community-Conversation/ |

Ooooh, I'd really love to see some innovative thinking and deep exploration of things that haven't been tried in MCPS.
How about NOT LEAVING SEX OFFENDERS IN THE CLASSROOM, working toilets, mold free buildings, lead free drinking fountains, curriculum materials that DON'T have a 30% error rate, and final exams? I know, I know these things are a radical departure from MCPS but lets try something different. I also hear that some school systems actually focus on the students and see themselves as serving all the students. Again, I know -in MCPS its all about the admin employees -teachers and students are at the bottom of the barrel but imagine if you swapped that mentality? I hear some school districts surrounding us do this. Lets give it a try. |
| Why do I think mcps already has a plan and this is their attempt at community input? |
|
I’d love to see an exchange program/partnership where students could spend a year or semester at a local private school or boarding school. The experience would meaningfully allow students to cross cultural, social and economic barriers. Students at the end of he semester would then be required to weave in the experience into their portfolio as apart of graduation requirements.
Alternatively, I’d also love to see students be able to spend a semester abroad in high school in a European country or other country deemed travel safe for young Americans. |
Funding? |
| The funding source would be half paid by families who want to apply for the program and the other source would be money from county taxes. |

So what's wrong with taking community input again? |
. Not enough money for books but airfares overseas shouldn't be a problem? |
Agree, checking the Box, we talked to the community. Then they will do whatever the heck they want. So annoying! And how do we know this is what will happen? Because it's what they do, all the time. They don't give a rat's ass what the community thinks. And by they, I mean dr. Zuckerman and the others controlling mcps. And not in a good way. |

Many people would love to see that ‘cross cultural experience’ to last freshman through senior years! |
This is MCPS, you are just asking way to much. |
Well, the people of this county shouldn't have voted them in. I didn't but majority did so I guess they have been satisfied with their past actions and decisions. |
The people didn't vote in Zuckerman. He was hired by Joshua Starr in 2013. The board members largely agree with what he and his staff recommend they do. |
