Best gymnastics? Best dance? Elementary age, NW DC or Bethesda

Anonymous
Hi, we are possibly relocating back to DC--our child has progressed past school supported extra curriculars in both dance and gymnastics, and I'm seeking recommendations for DC and MD (close in) programs that she could do outside of school. VA is less likely for us based on where we will be living- most likely NW DC or Bethesda. TIA!

For gymnastics, either Dynamite in Rockville, or Silver Stars in Silver Spring, depending on where you end up. We've done both, and like both, although currently at Silver Stars since closer to our home (NW DC).

I have three. We have done the rounds on these type of activities. I like the instruction at Silver Stars and Dynamite. Dynamite may have a slight edge in my book for cleanliness. Dance, Bethesda Conservatory is the hands done best option. Good luck with your move.

What kind of dance? We are pretty happy with c unit in the heart of Bethesda.

My two girls have split these activities. Oldest landed at Dynamite. She loves it and she seems to be getting a strong education.

The youngest bounced around a few different dance studios. She has stuck with BEthsda conservatory of dance. Solid program, great teachers.

Depends where you are in Bethesda for dance and what kind of dance. There's City Dance, Joy of Motion, and what works best for us (multiple kids, multiple activities, I need good AND close), Rock Creek Dance Academy.

Definitely Bethesda Conservatory.

My DD takes Ballet, Tap and Jazz at Rock Creek Dance Academy. It's a supportive environment for all levels of dance ability.

Hi Op. I have been in this industry for a Very long time. I am sending you a link to the Best of Bethesda Readers' Survey. It has been my experience that those who make the list do so for good reason. Those that do not...also for a very good reason. https://bethesdamagazine.com/best-bethesda-2018/kids/kids-dance-program/

My girls love BCoD. It is kind and warm. It offers a real dance education, by real dancers, in a low key environment.

Those that make the list often have an extensive email/poster/reminder campaign to get their families to vote in the survey. That said, Dawn Crofton has a great reputation for their dance team/competition team.
