Which doctor at Shady Grove Rockville office?

I'm making my first appt. Anyone in particular I should see? I'm not so concerned about hand holding, I just want someone who is excellent and knows what they are doing and will give me the best results. Thanks in advance.

I'd recommend Dr. Stillman. Very experienced and pleasant to deal with.

I saw Dr. Chang and he was wonderful. He took time to explain all our options and his nurse, Dew, is so sweet and caring. I went through one round of IVF with him and now I'm almost 8 weeks pregnant! Dr. Chang was there for all the major procedures...mock transfer, ER, ET, sonogram...I hear that sometimes your RE isn't the one to do those but Dr. Chang was always there for us. He isn't too touchy/feeling but very knowledgable and I had complete trust in his guidance.

I would NOT recommend Dr Stillman, if you are difficult case he will do everything to boot you out the door or push DE. He, more than others is looking out for SG stats.

I agree with PP, Dr. Stillman and Levy are all about SG stats and they don't want to deal with difficult cases. If you are over 38 and really want to try with your own eggs I would avoid SG, but if you are an easy case then they can probably handle it.

Disagree with last post. I was a patient of Dr. Levy's at ages 36 and 39-40. Never once did I feel like a statistic and got PG via IVF with my own eggs just after turning 40.

Thanks so much for the advice. Anyone use or know anything about Dr. Sagoskin (?sp?).

I had a consult with Sagoskin and liked him. At the time I was 31 and had only been TTC for 4 months. He encouraged us to keep trying on our own, which was probably good advice in general although in our case it turned out that 1 year later we ended up needing IVF (although I think it speaks well of him that he didn't push us toward expensive treatments before we had tried on our own for a year). In the end, we decided to use an RE in the DC office b/c it's closer to my work, but otherwise we had a good impression of Sagoskin. Hope that helps, sorry I don't have more details.

I highly recommend Dr. Chang. He is not a hand-holder, but is honest, knowledgable, compassionate, and straightforward. He never pressured me to do IVF. And yes, he cares about his patients. He performed my mock embryo transfer and ER. He responded to questions promptly, even calling me back himself though I had asked my nurse. He was not scheduled to do my 6 week sonogram, but came down to be there anyway. Good luck with your decision!
