Waiting period between seasonal and H1N1 flumists

Anonymous
What has everyone heard about the wait period between a child getting a seasonal and H1N1 flumist? I had heard 3 weeks but my dr.'s office just said 28 days. I was hoping to get my DS vaccinated this weekend but we'd be several days shy of 4 weeks since his seasonal flumist. TIA

if you had seasonal flu mist you need to wait 28 days before you can get H1N1 mist

BUT

if you had seasonal flu mist and you are going to get the H1N1 shot you do not need to wait

The DC form asks if you have had a flu vaccine in the last month and what type. I think you'd be able to get the shot if they had it if you had the flumist before.

You can get two shots on the same day (different arms).
You can get a shot and 1 flumist on the same day.
You CANNOT get two flumists on the same day. That's where I've heard 21 to 28 days.

We opted for the shot for the seasonal which gives us the option for flumist or the shot for H1N1, given the lack of availability of the latter.

Official CDC site "recommends" 28 days in between mists, but says that if flumists are given w/ as little as 21 days in between it will still be considered "valid."

As for what that means in real people talk, I assume 28 is better, but 21 is OK.

Why, I have no idea.
