| Curious what people pay for tax preparation services for those who use it. Just got a quote for $1400 |
|
Never paid more than $900 for a good CPA.
But of course it depends on what you are asking for. |
|
Yoy. I clicked on the thread and landed in the wrong neighborhood.
$50 for turbotax home and business. I just keep answering questions until it says it's done. |
| 150 |
| Elaborate more. Are you self employed and own a business? Or just a regular W2 employee? We use Rosenbloom and associates and pay I think around $750, but my husband owns his own business so it's more complicated than just having two people who are W2 employees. |
| I paid $500 last year for a CPA who specializes in taxes. I should do it myself but I didn't feel like it. |
| Around $600 if I remember correctly. We’re a little complicated, as DH is military so we file in multiple states, and I received a not-insignificant inheritance with a couple of brokerage accounts and a couple of properties. |
| $50 for the software and I do it myself. Takes about 2 hours. |
| I think about $85 for TurboTax. I used to pay a fortune (2k or something) for a guy to do it. I was an idiot. But we were living abroad so it was slightly more complicated. |
| Another TurboTax user here and we have decently complicated taxes (LLC, W2, capital gains, live in one state work in another, etc). |
| 95% of people can do their taxes with Turbotax. |
|
OP, I paid exactly what you were quoted with a new accountant (as of this year) who is excellent. I am self employed and not terribly complicated but I do not have the capacity to do my own taxes.
I have never paid less than $1k in the past 10 years. |

$1500.
Complicated partnership. |
| About $4000. It is complicated, long, and involves many states. |
| $3500 for a tax specialist. Own a small business, property management, and a W2 for the spouse. |
