The determination to ground Marine One, the president’s helicopter, due to bad weather is made by the Marine Corps and the White House Military Office, which then presents the recommendation to the White House in collaboration with the Secret Service. Citation that Trump made the decision to cancel his appearance at the event? |
Just the other day Trump told Moms For Liberty presidents have a lot of power and can do almost anything. He could have overruled the Marine Corps if it was truly important to him. A number of inner circle Trump people have said both on and off the record that he didn’t want to go, with one Republican saying it was because he didn’t want to get his hair wet. Here- read through all that is known and who has said what. Trump does not come off looking good. You’re welcome. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/04/22/murky-facts-about-trumps-failure-visit-american-war-dead-near-paris/ |
Maybe we should start a separate thread for all the times Trump dishonored the military.
I guess it starts with dodging the draft with a fabricated medical excuse President Bone Spurs |
No, I have no reason to believe he's lying. That's what I clarified in the post directly below. Is this a case where you choosing to believe the military? Is it more convenient to the narrative this time? |
As opposed to the military saying that the campaign violated the rules of section 60? |
The rules not a single poster can list or link to? |
It’s federal law. |
Despite the “last person in the room” quote, the Afghanistan debacle was going to be overwhelmingly a Biden scandal, and tying Harris to it (rightly) was going to be a heavy lift.
And then she goes and does it herself. Incredible. |
Who says they are posted somewhere? Write to ANC. Officials there confirmed they had sent their rules to the Trump campaign - as every media outlet has reported. |
Ooh ooh, I CAN!!!! https://www.axios.com/2024/08/29/trump-arlington-national-cemetery-rules You are so welcome. (I hope you are able to read.) |
This is from reuters US Army defends Arlington National Cemetery employee in Trump campaign incident By Idrees Ali August 29, 20246:01 PM EDT. WASHINGTON, Aug 29 (Reuters) -The U.S. Army defended an Arlington National Cemetery employee who was pushed aside during a visit by former President Donald Trump, saying that she acted professionally and was being unfairly attacked. The military rarely comments on political matters and while its statement on Thursday did not explicitly mention Trump or his 2024 presidential campaign, it made reference to a Monday ceremony. On that day Trump, the Republican candidate in the Nov. 5 presidential election, visited the cemetery and took part in a wreath-laying ceremony honoring the 13 service members killed during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. He also visited Section 60 of the cemetery, where troops are buried and which is considered hallowed ground in the military. Federal law and Pentagon policies do not allow political activities in that section of the cemetery, but videos were taken by Trump's campaign and used in advertisements. "An ANC (Arlington National Cemetery) employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed aside," the Army statement said. "This incident was unfortunate, and it is also unfortunate that the ANC employee and her professionalism has been unfairly attacked," it added. |
Trump followed all the rules. |
The ANC says he did not. I believe them. Especially over a proven liar. Why do you disrespect our beloved national cemetery? |
Where did they say he broke the rules? He didn’t campaign or talk about the election? He didn’t ask for votes or ask people to register as republicans? What did he do? |
