Seems like there's at least a mild preference for California. If price is no object, Loyola Marymount. Beautiful campus and in LA.

VCU 100%

VCU if you want to help pay for med school instead. But if they want a more rigorous environment, the first five are all great options. I like UCLA and Cal for public health and data science.

Cost is not an issue. Thanks!!

Oberlin has excellent grad school and med school outcomes

Yes, Oberlin claims 70% of their med school applicants get in somewhere.

UMD - in state but Spring admit w/o engineering
NC state with honors and engineering
VA Tech- engineering

We have one in college already so paying out of state would be difficult, but we could do it

Have you visited NC State? It was the most pristine public campus I've ever seen. Not a speck of litter anywhere. Great vibe. Increasingly popular school. Loved it. I think it will overtake VA Tech sometime soon. Congrats to your kid.

Interesting list and congrats to your student. If you want them close, Elon and even Charleston more obvious. Rah-rah obviously UTK and Auburn. If out west then LMU, or Chapman if more creative type and Santa Clara if more quantitative type (within liberal arts as mentioned by you).

My niece got into Chapman, San Diego, and Loyola also and chose Denver after visiting. Fell in love with campus.
