best nutcracker performances

| I am looking for information on DC area nutcracker performances appropriate for young kids. I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old, and would like to start a tradition of taking them to see the nutcracker during the holiday season. I don't want to buy pricey tickets when I'm not sure my 3 year old will sit through the whole thing (well), but I would like a performance that I will enjoy as well (aka, not a completely kid-oriented show like at Glen Echo). Any suggestions? |

| Kintz-Mejia Academy of Ballet will be putting on a production on the afternoons of 5-6 December at the George Mason High School auditorium in Falls Church. I believe tickets are $10. Call the Academy to inquire about tickets. My 5 year old son watched it last year and LOVED it. |

| Maryland Youth Ballet does a nice production. (There was just a thread on this a few days ago.) |
