Infertility Support and Discussion
If you went to Cornell for your IVF, would you mind sharing the approximate costs? Consults, IVF, anything else? They have a hotel that gives reduced rates to Cornell IVF cyclers, right? Any and all information would be appreciated!!

A friend shared this price list with me. I don't know anything about hotel discounts, but you could also try airbandb.com (I think that's what it's called) or vrbo.com. Initial consult w/Dr Davis is about $550 and having Cornell's lab do a day 2 blood test is around $250 (this is required before you can schedule a consult).
IVF cycle (includes lab testing, ultrasounds, > > retrieval, > > > > fertilization, semen evaluation and prep, embryo > > transfer) = > > > > $8900 > > > > > > > > NYP Hosptial fee = $1005 > > > > > > > > Anesthesia = $750 > > > > > > > > Assisted hatching = $1500 > > > > > > > > ICSI = $2500 > > > > > > > > Co-culture = $1500 |
OP here. Thank you so much! That's a bit frightening as far as costs, but it's good to be prepared. I assume that the meds are another $4K or so on top of that... Ouch!
Didn't cycle with Cornell, but re: meds, we got lucky that BCBS covered about 90% of our med costs with IVF. Many of the IVF drugs are used for other conditions too, so they do get covered.
The discounted hotel which is right across from Cornell is The Helmsley Medical Tower. The rooms all have a kitchen and they don't charge sales tax.
They charge per room between 240 (studio) and 290 (one bedroom).
