Has any non-pregnant adult here rec'd the vax? No one seems to be distributing ...

We'd really, really like to find a clinic that will vaccinate a non-pregnant adult. My DH is a CDC priority group (25-64 yr old with verifiable big-time underlying health issue), and the District keeps turning him away. His/our private Dr. has no vaccines, and he cannot wait in line for 6 hours overnight on a lawn chair in MoCo.

Does anyone have hard evidence that he could get the shot somewhere in the region?

DC has now opened the clinics up to other CDC priority groups. I would suggest McKinley Tech after noon on Saturday. Good luck.

OP here -- the DC DOH's website doesn't indicate that clinics are open to adults, and the WaPo's "flu central" website actually says no, they're still just for kids/expecting moms.

Has anyone here actually seen, say, a 40 year old man getting innoculated in DC?

I just called the DC DOH to find out what DH has to bring to get the shot if he has asthma. They said documentation or medication. There was no indication that he couldn't get the shot now (and the website says he can as of Monday).

The WaPo website seems to be a bit out of date. For example, they still have the MoCo clinics listed, even though they have been canceled.

thank you for the info. We'll just try the next DC clinic and I'll pack a duffel of DH's meds with his name on the bottles.

The Prince George's County vax clinic in Cheverly was doing non-pregnant adults with health conditions. But it is over -- next one is next Thursday.

Hi OP. If you post your email address I will give u the name of my General Practionar who has the shot. Not sure if they will it give it people who aren't already part of their practise but it is worth a try. They are in Vienna if you are interested in making the drive.

I got one at Potomac Pediatrics in Gaithersburg a week ago. I don't know if they still have them, but they were vaccinating anyone who asked and was able to get the mist. Good luck.

I (aged 44) got one in DC - Eliot Hine School - on Tuesday. Even though the WaPo said it was for youth and pregnant women, when I took my son, who is 7, there they had a notice up which said they were vaccinating all the CDC priority groups. I am part of a high -risk group as defined by the CDC. I had my card out which indicates this to show them but no one asked for proof. I just filled out one form for my son and one for me and they just gave me the vaccine.

OP back -- D.C. is indeed doing all CDC priority groups. DH got his shot at Wilson tonight, and though he offered to show his letter from a doc and various meds, the DOH staff did not look at them closely. Thx all!
