| I’m trying to decide where to look to buy a house. Commute isn’t really an issue. Kids are pre-elementary, but looking for schools that will work through HS. Everyone on this board raves about HoCo but where in particular should I focus? |
| Marriotts Ridge and River Hill |
| Shouldn't this be on a Baltimore or far away forum? |
This is the Maryland Public Schools forum. Howard County is in Maryland. |
|
For DCUM, there is nothing worthwhile north of Montgomery County (Bethesda specifically).
I concur with prior recs of Rivers Hill and Marriott Ridge. You will pay more in these areas accordingly. |
Centennial ahead of these two. |
| Budget? What are you looking for in a school? Do you value diversity? |
Huh?????? |
500k and no, rather do a high SES school |
Howard County is actually a lot nicer than MoCo in a lot of ways. |
Said no one ever who could afford the nice parts of MoCo |
There is at least one extremely pathetic poster who gets very upset when people post about Howard County real estate or schools on DCUM. I assume she has some sort of personality disorder. |
| Howard is the best overall school system in the mid Atlantic. |
LOL!!! |
HA! For that budget you can't afford the high SES areas in Howard. Also, we do not want wannabe elitists here. |
