The PCSB is taking public comments on revisions to its current policies re what triggers an audit of a charter school to determine if they are adequately serving students with disabilities. https://www.dcpcsb.org/sites/default/files/report/2018-10-15%20Revised%20Special%20Education%20Audit%20Policy%20Redlined.pdf
Public comment is open until Nov. 19 and a vote is scheduled for Dec. 19. The proposed changes make a lot of sense to me - including allowing a community complaint (e.g. parent report) to potentially trigger an audit. |

| Interesting. As a parent of a child with a disability, I'm glad to see the PCSB is looking at this. Quite a few charters I talked to seemed not to have any programs for kids like mine. Or if they had such programs, they didn't want to advertise them. |

| I think this is great -- really gets at the subtle ways students with disabilities can be excluded. I would love the same insight into DCPS schools! |
