Mediocre Hollywood women

Anonymous
Ever notice how many or the successful females working in Hollywood are so utterly average and mediocre. They’re continued success and star power is as baffling as the obvious fact that had they not been white, they’d be nobodies.

Terrible awful actress yet the heroine of a major franchise, UN ambassador, face of prestigious fashion and beauty brands
Average looking girl who is somehow considered a fashionista

Average girl next door who somehow got to be the lead of a tv show and continues to be relevant

Average girl awful acting skills and yet she is a famous Hollywood A lister. How?

Somehow she got the lead as an the Golden it girl an has been elevated to a major fashion influencer. Average face. Awful acting skills. Awful style.

Wow, OP. I think all of the women you posted are beautiful.

Umm Blake Likely is a golden goddess...and I say this as someone who does think Emma Watson is mediocre she just happened to turn her Harry Potter lead role into multi-film success.

You have a lot of time on your hands. Have you considered taking up a hobby?

Two things in play.
1- these women are relatable the the average woman. They not so blindingly, drop dead gorgeous that they are untouchable. They look like someone we work with or went to school with.
2 - marketing. They are shoved down our throats and told that they are beautiful so we accept that they are. To me Aniston is above average, but was in one of the top sitcoms of the past 25 years and had a high profile marriage and was on countless magazine covers. Emma Watson was in one of the top movie franchises of all times.

Blake is just a tall blonde. How many tall blondes are walking around the mall?

Not many, blonde hair is relatively rare. Where do you live that you see so much blonde hair?

I totally agree with OP. And - I'd like to add - I wish I had written her post.

You realize almost everybody in Hollywood has a family connection.

I find it interesting that you made this about Hollywood women and not Hollywood celebrities. Why is that? Do we really need four Chrises?

I don't mind any of these women but I think Blake L is massively over-rated and looks like a slightly dolled up girl from a trailer in Mississippi. Maybe that's why so many folks like her? I honestly do not know. The rest are fine.

Who is the last girl OP?

I think Kristen Bell is very relatable, which contributed to her success voicing an already-iconic role in a hit movie OP seems to have forgotten about - Anna in Frozen.

This. Or they start at a very young age when they are cute enough, make a name for themselves, and leverage that to get roles even though they may not be drop-dead gorgeous (although many are, like Natalie Portman and ScarJo).

Also, makeup, clothes, hair, and a dietician+personal trainer can turn an average woman into a goddess. Even stunning celebrities often look average in no makeup, sweats, and a few extra pounds.

As for acting skills- most media today doesn't really require them. Most movies and tv shows have terrible writing, terrible plots, and no real depth.
