It’s sad that people can’t think for themselves

When a middle aged person has to quote things from this discussion board to try and validate their actions.

Uh...ok...

Is it really sad? How much did it make you cry, OP?

Why don't you have the courage to state your opinion outright? Something like "I disapprove when a middle aged person quotes things from this discussion board to validate their actions."

I agree that "It’s sad that people can’t think for themselves"

I don't agree that anonymous thread boards are the Go-To place for people who don't know what to do. I think it's more venting. Maybe a place to take a survey of a bunch of loons and handful of normal ppl.

It is most likely that a person who asks a question here has an opinion, bounces it off the great Anonymous Goddesses, gets a variety of responses (rarely is there unanimous consensus on this board), weighs those responses against his or her own original position, then comes to a personal conclusion. That is thinking for one's self.

It’s sad that people start mysterious threads without providing sufficient context. It would be interesting to know precisely what OP was complaining about.

I think that OP stated exactly what they were complaining about. Sounds like he/she was in a discussion and the other person used logic from quoting from this board

Yeah, but wouldn't you like to know about exactly what? Was it about finding a high status male? Was it about a sexless marriage? was it about justifying an affair? How did OP know her friend or S/O was quoting from this board? What was the quote the OP's friend or S/O quoted?
