Tell me about a Mom you admire

DCUM, I'm just trying to make sure my kids eat a couple meals a day, make it to school on time, and turn out to be decent human beings.

Tell me about a Mom you admire.

I have a few: my own. She's funny, strong and resilient. Plowed through a kinda bad marriage and raised three decent kids.

I admire creative Moms. I don't have a creative bone in my body. Even if they are putting it together on Pintrest, there's that awesome Mom who has a great kid and makes a freaking Halloween costume every year for him.

There's a Mom at our school who just seems, unflappable. Maybe she yells behind closed doors, but she is so good at just getting down on her two kids' levels, rationalizing with them and listening to them.

Ugh. Parenting is hard.

No one, actually.

I like moms who follow rules for capitalization. Proper nouns need require capitalization. Words you want emphasize do not.

I admire any mom who can keep her head above water.

Who have a sense of humor

Anyone with a sense of humor who loves her family and looks out for her friends and neighbors.

One who feeds their kids in the tub.

And I like moms who aren’t assholes!

I can think of two moms who respond really well to bad kid behavior. They are calm and kind, where I tend to get angry and then try not to "act" angry. I routinely see them turn around deteriorating situations, and their kids obey them.

Some “Moms” can’t take jokes.

The ones I really admire are moms I follow on instagram and youtube. They're always super patient, no screens at all, feed only organic whole foods, spend hours taking their kids on nature walks and trips to the beach, do creative projects, and have super hot husbands who dote on them.

Yes, I know it's not real, but damn I want that life!

Daniel Tiger's mom. I would kill for half the patience that woman has.

My mother in law. She loves the shit out of her kids and is so supportive of them even if she doesn't agree with or like what they're doing, and she's so great at knowing when to listen and when to offer advice.

I'm that mom except that the nanny does the bolded stuff during the week. I think it's okay to outsource some things. The kids are 6 and 7 and at home, all the food is super healthy because out of the house the rules are relaxed. But no screens and definitely have a super hot husband who dotes on me.

Ah, she's too earnest for me. I like funny, low-key moms.
