What happens if the entire school board gets booted out?

I get the impression that this is likely to happen. The question is whether this will be a strong enough message to start turning MCPS around or will MCPS just blink and go back to being incompetent.

I plan to vote against every incumbent possible. I sure hope the new board sees it as an opportunity for change.

Evans, Dixon, and Smondrowski will all still be there. As will the SMOB. They aren't up for reelection this year.

Docca and O'Neill are the only incumbents running for reelection.

As others said, not everyone is up for re-election, but the worst ones are, which is why it’s really important to vote.

+1 Pat O'Neill needs to go. She is part of the problem with MCPS. Docca too.

Just vote for the most Conservative members. Let's get our house in order. No more freebies.

Yes. Everybody gets to vote for one candidate in each contest. The district requirement applies to the candidate - for example, you have to live in BoE District 2 in order to be a candidate for BoE District 2. But everybody in the county votes in the BoE District 2 election.

Wouldn't the conservative position be, to re-elect the incumbents? Keep the old, vs. take a risk on the new?

Montgomery County Board of Education races are non-partisan, in any case. Nobody runs as a member of a political party.

I haven't been following the School Board issue but want to... what is wrong with O'Neill and Docca?
