| My pediatrician was out of seasonal shots when we were there. Now that H1N1 is starting to become available, I'm thinking maybe I should get that one instead. I don't want to get them both close together. A few people have told me that their docs told them H1N1 IS this year's flu, so seasonal is not necessary? |
| Our ped said to focus on the H1N1 vaccine first -- that was the most prevelant flu now and the more serious. But they advised to try to get the seasonal vaccine too, and that later would be fine for it (even if it is Dec.). |
| Most of the flu out there right now is H1N1 rather than seasonal. If you're picking one, I would pick the H1N1 (I got H1N1 for myself and DD but won't get seasonal for another week or two, because our ped is out.) |

Seasonal flu shots seem to be available through county health departments and even some retailers like CVS and Safeway Pharmacy. I'd get the H1N1 if you have a chance and then chase down the seasonal as best you can. I would not go one or the other but would get both.
note: If you get the flu mist nasal, then there is a 21 day delay between flu mist nasal H1N1 and flu mist nasal seasonal. You can, however, get both shots on the same day (different arms) or mist and shot on the same day, as far as I understand. |

absolutely get h1n1 first.
my son got the seasonal mist a week and a half ago so we have to wait for another week before we can get h1n1. If I knew I was going to have to wait for h1n1 I would have waited on getting the seasonal. |
