Does child have to be able to "sniff" on command to get flu mist?

DD is developmentally delayed...I want to get her the mist instead of the shot. Does she need to be able to sniff to get the mist, or can they just spray it up her nose?

No, they don't. Did it with my 2yo yesterday, and she didn't sniff at all, and actually actively fought the thing. You'll be fine.

With the regular flu mist we were told by the ped that it just needs to come into contact with the nasal membranes, so a spray is fine. Good luck.
