The Haunting of Hill House

Anyone watching? So good, but so terrifying! We have two episodes to go and I really hope it has a satisfying ending that explains everything.

This is my absolute favorite "after kids are in bed" show right now.

I've seen the original Robert Wise directed movie with Julie Harris and Claire Bloom about 100 times, and read the original book, so I'm loving this modern re-take/re-imagining on the relationships of the main characters.

The characters are all so deep and the acting is great.

I posted about this a few days ago! It is so good. I just finished it last night. Not 100% sold it sticks the landing but so good, really one of the best horror series I've ever watched. I REALLY hope Netflix doesn't try to suck another season out of this, it is a finished story IMO.

It was good up until episode 6. The scarier it tried to be, the sillier it got. I thought the ending was dumb.

I’ve heard this is so good but I’m too scared to watch!

It's a slow burn on the horror - not too many crazy jump scares or gore. I am loving it!

I just watched Episode 6 last night, and I see what you mean in some cases. BUT the acting and inter-family drama is so compelling, I'm getting more interested in each of the characters over the scare factor.

The main eye roll for me was the entities that Olivia saw in the house during the storm. I mean... come on. BUT story lines with a doppelganger theme always get my heebe-jeebes going (i.e. when Hugh sees Olivia walking down one corridor and then another.)

It's be best show I've seen in a long time. Really excellently written/produced/acted - I can forgive a few cheap scares here and there.

I'm on episode 4 and absolutely love it. So well done, and the acting is wonderful. Looking forward to getting the kids to bed each night so I can indulge!

You're in for a treat - Episode 5 (Nell's story line) has probably been my favorite so far. Just amazing. I hope you can watch it tonight!

I think my favorite episode was Two Storms. But Nell's episode was fantastic.

And so was Eulogy. Honestly Bent Neck Lady - Two Storms - Eulogy was the strongest part of the season to me. Although I loved Theodora's episode as well.

I'm 110% all about Haunting of Hill House, and I love all things spooky (especially this time of year), but AHS is SO SCARY to me that I have to listen to a podcast recap of each show instead of watching the actual show.

For AHS Hotel, I actually watched the weekly Drag Queen recap (with Trixie Mattell) on YouTube instead. It was the only way I could watch without nightmares.

Got to the end. Fantastic! Touching yet scarier.

I rarely see things with Henry Thomas in them, but every time he was on screen a little voice in my head would say El-li-ot.

Also, it was really ridiculous that he go back to his kids without arranging a change of clothes:

Oh, it’s paint, honey. Mmm, even 6 year olds aren’t that dumb.
