Advanced Academic test

Anonymous

Hi, my child did not make it to be placed in not the program. My child is in advanced math but not challenged enough in the other areas. We did refer our child last year but they did not approve.I just found out from some one that students could be retested. Anyway, I would like know if some one could tell me what is the process. Also, besides school, could we take our kids anywhere to be tested? In your experience which is better? Any kinds of tips and advises will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can request one re-test. Most people who go this route request the CogAT because they think the committee gives it more weight. You can also pay for private testing. Those who do this usually go for the WISC or the Stanford Binet test. Options are discussed at https://www.fcps.edu/registration/advanced-academics-identification-and-placement/current-fcps-students
