My twice exceptional 8th grader, who struggles so much with fine motor skills, processing speed, prioritization, and inconsistent writing (sometimes it's super weird, sometimes it's excellent), etc, scored a 263 on his fall MAP-R. It corresponds to a 1825 Lexile level. The results didn't even give a Lexile range this time, the range was written as 1825L - 1825L. HA! (I would never say this out loud.) |

Hi OP,
I don't know how to interpret the test results (unfamiliar with the tests) but sounds like your 8th grader just did awesome on them. Congratulations! Remember btw to compliment his effort, not his score! (to foster growth mindset vs. fixed mindset) |
| I have no idea what this test is, but wanted to say that sounds like great news! Congratulations to you and your DC. |
| Yes! I have no idea what it means either but it sounds like she persevered and did great through hard work. I would guess she also has supportive parents. Great to read this! |
| That's great! |

No idea what it means, but as a mom with a twice exceptional child I say....
WOO HOO!!!!!! Fantastic!!! Love reading the great news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME!! I also might suggest you switch this post to the SN board. We are always looking for good news and you might get more responses! Thanks for sharing the wonderful news!!! |
| Congrats to your son OP! |
Yea! 99th percentile, I believe. Congrats. My DS is also 2E, so it feels great when the strengths shine through. I will make a little brag here too (perfect score on the quantitative section of the CoGat, 6th grade! Woo Hoo!). He struggles, so I know it pleases him to have these strengths. Congrats again to your DS. |
