Requirements for getting drivers license

Anonymous
Did you require your kids to meet certain expectations before allowing them to get a drivers license? For example, help out around the house or other tasks that demonstrate a certain amount of responsibility?

Helping around the house has nothing to do with driving safely. How about you tell them they need to download the apps On their phone that notify you if they are texting and driving. And if they do, you take the license.

No. My husband might not be driving if we did that.

LOL! Thank you for the morning laugh.

We've told our kids that they have to have "good" grades and stay out of trouble before they can get their licenses. Basically exhibit we can trust them.

No, we view them having a license as for our convenience more than theirs. We already have a "chore chart" that our tween/teen kids have to follow (and we give them an allowance weekly too) so they're required to help out around the house anyway.

That's assuming that kids want to drive.
I viewed it as a necessary evil and was terrified of driving.
My kids aren't enthused about the idea at all.
