Labor and Delivery at Sibley with Kaiser.

Hi! How was your experience at Dibley with Kaiser?
I’m new to Kaiser and I haven’t quite understood how does it work when the hospital it’s not their facility. Do you have any experience?

I am also curious about people's experiences.

OP, I have Kaiser as well. My nurse told me that the way the process works is you choose one of the hospitals on their list like Sibley or Holy Cross (the hospitals offer free tours for expecting parents), then you register with them ahead of time, and when you go into labor you go to the hospital and they will have your records there. You won't be able to choose a particular doctor ahead of time, it's just who is on duty.

At the recommendation of my doctor at the tyson’s location, I delivered at Sibley and loved it. Because not many Kaiser patients deliver there, I had my own doctor the entire time. She didn’t have any other Kaiser patients there to check on, so she was with me the entire time.

A Kaiser pediatrician makes rounds daily so they will check on your baby then. While I don’t know if a Kaiser ped is on site 24/7, there is obviously always a pediatrician available if needed.

Sorry, i’m 12:55. To clarify, my Tyson’s doctor did not deliver at Sibley so I had one doctor to myself, not my regular doctor.

I delivered there and I don’t think so, my nurses seemed to be employed by sibley. They were great and it was very quiet.

I have Kaiser and delivered at Sibley with my first 2 years ago. It was a great experience. Some people want their personal doctor delivering their baby, but at the point of pushing, I couldn't have cared less who was in the room. The doctor in charge of my delivery was great, even though it was my first time meeting her. Pediatrician was awesome, too.

I'm due in May and will be having baby #2 there as well. Excited to experience the new rooms!

Reviving this tread as considering delivering at Sibley with Kaiser. I have a very strong fear of delivering at a catholic hospital due to long backstory that I won't get into, so GT and HC are out; thus looking at other area hospitals, and I think that is closest to my home in CCDC. Any more stories of Kaiser deliveries at Sibley?

I thought Kaiser dropped Sibley as an option. Which is very unfortunate. You could try Washington Hospital Center.

It's not an option as of Jan 2020. Source - my recent meeting with my Kaiser OB-GYN about where to deliver in which she presented a list with Sibley crossed off.

Had two fantastic experiences, but it’s no longer an option as of January 5, 2020.

Kaiser no longer delivers at Sibley. Effective 1/6/2020 they deliver at Holy Cross Germantown instead.

That’s comforting.
