Easy Italian Appetizer Ideas for Large Dinner Party

Anonymous
Anyone have any ideas for some easy appetizers that go with an Italian meal for a dinner party we're having (15 people). I'm blanking. Thank you!

Brushetta (toasted french bread with tomatoes, olive oil and garlic)
Get some cured meats and cheese platters (along the lines of pancetta and melon)
shrimp cocktail

Antipasta (may be using the wrong word) - Cut up meats like salami, ham - and cheeses, olives, pickled things (can you tell I am not a foodie?)

toothpicks with half a grape tomato, a small mozzarella ball and a bowl of pesto for dipping

Prosciutto around Skinny Breadsticks

You could sub out the boursin for a more "Italian" kind of cheese.

You could make a bagna cauda. Use it to dip raw or blanched veggies, bread, or even steamed shrimp.

Just did this one last night and went over well-quick and easy to make-I also add fresh basil to mine. Another one I had was french bread topped with a slice of brie, an apple slice and a teaspoon of a butter/pecan/brown sugar mix-in the oven for a few minutes. So good and all gone.

I buy the marinated mozzarella balls at costco.I take that and grape tomatoes and put on toothpicks. This way you really don't any type of dip. I have served these for four years now, always the first thing to go!

I just made this and it was a hit! It wasn't even an Italian meal and it went over very well! It's a Giada DeLaurentis recipe.

36 slices (1/2-inch thick) baguette bread, about 1 loaf
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
8 ounces Gorgonzola, sliced
3 tablespoons honey
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Arrange the sliced baguette on a baking sheet. Brush with olive oil. Bake until the bread is pale golden and crisp, about 10 minutes.

Arrange the cheese on the toasts and bake until the cheese is melted, about 3 minutes.

Drizzle the toasts with honey. Place on a serving platter and serve immediately.

One more, if not too late...

fresh figs, stuffed with a smidge of goat cheese, wrapped with prociutto and drizzled with honey...bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes or until prociutto crisps up a little.
