| I’m looking at this as a possible second car, and would like to hear people’s reviews. it’s very economical! |
| Yes, a junk. |
| I used a zipcar one a few weeks ago. I usually avoid it because I think of it as being a junker, but it wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be. I'd drive it again or short jaunts, but I wouldn't use it all day or for day trips or anything. For an economy car is was fine. |
| My daughter bought a 2012 three years ago, she loves it. |
+ 1 Yes, I agree. KIA’s are essentially composed of junk. That is why they are so inexpensive too.
|
| Yuck. Buy a Honda or Toyota. |
| I drove a rental Kia Soul for a week's vacation. Drove about 24 hours during that week. I was not optimistic- but it totally held its own. It did well on the highways- could easily accelerate and do 80- and the gas mileage was very good. It's small so parking was easy, and didn't have major blind spots. Big downside: the trunk is tiny. So small. Do not buy if you ever need any trunk storage. |

I had one and for the most part really loved it. The only aspect that really needed improvement was the braking. It always felt like I had to really jam down on the brakes.
This is not a vehicle for anyone that tailgates! |
| Junk. Seriously, buy a Honda or Toyota. |

I love mine! It’s a breeze to drive, and has held up amazingly well. The Kia front brake pads have lasted 60K miles each time. It has needed precisely 0 repairs and I’m at 130,000 miles. Gas mileage is good. The sound system is damn good for the price. I like the creature comforts it offers, like side mirrors that heat to melt the ice. It has impressive results on crash tests.
My sister bought one, and also loves it. She said she is going to buy another when this one goes. You could buy a $30K Honda or Toyota, or you could buy 2 Kia Souls for the same price. |
| I don't know how it is in terms of reliability but I get drove one and really loved it. You get a lot for your money. |
| I know several people who own them and love them. That 10 year warranty is pretty great. |
| It's a car. It works. My mother has one and it does the job for her. The 10 year warranty doesn't cover everything though - her radio/speakers went so she's rigged a bluetooth speaker to her phone and just drives it like that. A decent small car. |
| We have a prius and a Kia Soul. You can buy 2 Kia's for the Prius price. The Soul is a good, reliable car, easy to park, good value for the money. I would say yes...go with it. |
