Have you given tamiflu to your toddler?

Anonymous
How did it go? Was it worth it? I don't know if I want my toddler to vomit or have psychiatric symptoms on top of everything else for just one day less of flu. On the other hand, he has asthma so even one day less might be good. Not sure what to do.....anyone used tamiflu yet?

I had the flu and the doc prescribed prophylactic doses to my asthmatic two year old and four month old baby. No issues with the Tamiflu for either of them and neither got flu. From what I was told, it may give some protective benefit for a few weeks.

We gave it to our 3 y/o last year when H1N1 was just starting up, and other than it making him ill (nauseous) he did fine on Tamiflu. He learned quickly to run away when he saw the white stuff in a spoon...

We took Tamiflu too at the same time, and it DOES make you pretty nauseous.
