| We'll be entering the lottery for our twins in 2019, and I'm just starting to explore options. I've been to myschooldc, and I can see how many spots and how long the waitlist was, but is there more detailed data available somewhere? Can I see how many non-IB kids were offered spots, for example? Basically I'm trying to understand how to identify places with some chance versus realistically no chance. Also is there somewhere with PK curriculum details for all of DC schools in one place, or do you have to visit each school's website? Just for context I'm in Capitol Hill and zoned for Maury. |

The links to data from myschooldc brings you to a site that will show you the breakdown of inbound, sibling, etc. matches for DCPS schools. The DCPCS data only shows the waitlist numbers.
I’m not aware of a site that lists the curricula. I attended a group session with a consultant, who provided a helpful list, but I’m not aware of it being publicly available. |

Did you watch the lottery video on MSDC? It explains the master number element which is the most important thing to understand about the lottery.
Basically if you get a great master number you will get in wherever you want; if you get a bad master number you won't. The good news is that with twins you get 2 chances for a good master number. The schools where you have "no chance" for Pk3 are Brent, Ross, Stoddert, Van Ness because IB students will take all the seats offered. You have a better shot than most at Maury (bc IB and twins), School within a school (bc twins) and as good or better a shot as anyone else at any of the charters you are probably interested in. Info sources: For curriculum info, start with the DCPS school profile pages. For charters it's school by school. | Some good advice in this thread from last week too. http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/755988.page |
Is this level of data available for charter schools, too? |
It is not. |
