Looking for others to try!

My boy is into "crude" movies these days, with lots of references to bodily functions & talk of opposite sex anatomy... sigh.

Dumb & dumber he loved.

There are zillion movies for kids this age set. I agree with Dumb & Dumber and all the silly movies like it, plus cool adventure movies... think Steven Spielberg (ET, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Jaws), also Goonies and Stand By Me and things like that.

Sweeter movies like Big, my Girl, Forrest Gump...

Hilarious old classics like Plane Trains & Automobiles, Uncle Buck...

Mystery Men turned out to be a big hit with my crew.

Anything Marvel -- that will keep them busy for a while.

Night at the Museum movies.

Big is not really appropriate for that age. There is a sex scene in it that those kids are probably too young for.

Most of the 11 and 12 year old boys I know would be bored to tears by My Girl. I think girls that age might appreciate it, but I cannot imagine .any boys wanting to watch it. Forrest Gump is a fantastic movie, but depending on the boys it might be too mature for them.

My boys and their friends love Apollo 13.

They also love Goonies and War Games and really get a kick out of the early computer technology.

I don't think some of the old movies hold up so well - esp Stand by Me (my kids felt the boys were mean to each other), and Planes Trains and Automobiles is actually kinda sad. As is Uncle Buck.

Beetlejuice is good - and timely for Halloween coming up.
Edward Scissorhands - not funny but a good weird movie

Anything Jim Carrey was a hit when my son was a tween
