DW and I are working parents of 3 lively children. For the most part, life has slowly devolved to school, kid activities, "what's for dinner" conversations, and great but relatively routine intimacy "while the kids are asleep." We love each other, but feel like we haven't had the time to hang out and have fun for five blinking minutes... Weekends everyone's happy to get five minutes to chillax. We plan to offload the little ones on the grandparents and friends and family for a sleepover.
So wives, mothers, ladies... here's your chance to give me some date night ideas for the overtaxed parents. Order take out, and watch a movie at home? Dinner and dancing? A bar scene where I pretend to be a stranger in town just for the night? A concert? The theater? Everyone retreat to their corner of the house? What would you like to do if the kids were gone for the night and you had your husband all to yourself? Oh yeah, the date night must end with sex. Thanks... |
This might sound weird. Drive somewhere. I like the intimacy of the car, it encourages talk. You can be side by side, don't have to make eye contact, but can freely talk. And you are stuck with somebody for a while! You could drive out to WV and get a hotel there. Then drive home! |
If you do any of the things you mention, I'd vote for dinner/dancing. The others sound so tame and boring, tbh. |
Totally unnecessary to add this. And does your wife know of this “requirement”? What happens if she doesn’t comply? |
It was a semi-joke. Unclench... |
