Anyone know of any? Trying to help my friend get her 2 yr old vaccinated. The Arlington website doesn't have any updates.
TIA! |

Fairfax County will be doing children aged 6-36 months and pregnant women again at 5 district offices.

I just checked Arlington's web site, and nothing new is posted. Check here for updates.
http://arlingtonva.us/portals/topics/TopicsPandemicFlu.aspx I checked the CVS H1N1 clinic list. I have not seen any clinics with availability in a few days now. http://www.minuteclinic.com/en/USA/VA/Virginia-Suburbs/Clinics.aspx?h1n1_only=yes DC is having clinics on Tues, Thurs, and Sat. I went to them to get DS vaccinated, and they were very orderly and reasonable: http://doh.dc.gov/doh/cwp/view.asp?a=1370&q=604320&PM=1 This link says Alexandria's first clinic is Oct 3. But I can't tell if this is the most up to date page. http://alexandriava.gov/news_display.aspx?id=26596 HTH. I am done until next month when my toddler needs a booster. |

Not what you asked, but let me just say-- the DC clinic was amazing. So well organized and run. We went to McKinley 30 minutes before closing and there was no line at all, took us 15 minutes on Saturday to get the shot for our 14 month old.
I am frustrated with NOVA, with the way they are posting the clinics. DC tells you what times, where, and who can get the shot clearly. I vote them the winners in this so far. |
| If you're near Alexandria, I suggest calling the Casey Clinic--adjacent to INOVA Alexandria. I called this morning, got an appt for 4pm, and got my vaccine (I'm 8mo preg), with no wait! I was truly amazed how easy it was. (BTW--they offer Sanofi Pasteur--injection.) |
| Do you have to live in the jurisdiction where the clinic is located? I am thinking of going to the fairfax county clinic in falls church during the day 10/27 but I am a dc resident. could not find any restrictions about this on the internet sites. Good to hear the dc clinics are organized, may just do that. |
| I think DC, MD and VA have agreed to vaccinate residents of the metro area. |

I'm the OP and just wanted to thank everyone for the info! My friend was able to get DD the shot at one of the Fairfax clinics on Monday.
Now I have to get DH vaccinated. I'm pregnant and have a 2 yr old with diagnosed asthma. We were both vaccinated last week and I'm hoping I can get DH the shot before Thanksgiving when we travel. Ugh. A friend told me that the CVS clinics are vaccinating anyone who wants one. Is this true? |
| We were in and out of the Springfield district health dept office in FFX in about 20 minutes yesterday around 3pm. They had the mist and shot for 6 months- 36 months and pregnant women. |
| 22:12 - Fairfax is doing everyone. I'm a MD resident and got my dd vaccinated there yesterday. I called ahead to ask and they said "it's a a Federal program." Go right ahead. |
| About 80 people in line to be vaccinated in FFX Falls Church location as of 8:55. They are passing out numbers. Very orderly. |
Federal program BUT Fairfax won't do people between 36 months and 24 years. DC will so what are people supposed to do? Fairfax isn't checking because that would delay the shot process. |
| Right now, each municipality is doing its own prioritization based on CDC guidance, so you have to shop around to find a place that will take you... If DC is doing older kids, you will have to drive into the city. I think FFX did the right thing by going with the highest priority first and giving a few days for those groups to get it and then opening up to the next group on the priority list. |

Fairfax has now changed its age range and is doing up to 5 years old at the district offices. Check their website
