I've had a weird and negative experience so far. I registered last week, started receiving emails that my account was locked and they were still verifying my driver's license. I called 4 days out and the guy told me to call the next day if it has not been unlocked.
I waited 3 more days and called again, now being told to submit my driving records, as if my license were an international one. It's not! It's a DC license. I have a clean driving record, so not afraid to submit the records. It just seems odd. Anyone else had a bad experience with them? I'm wondering if I should just steer clear.. |
| I use car2go and had let my license expire for 5 years since I never drive, but then got my license again this past January and signed up for car2go and zipcar at the same time. I had no issues. I don't remember how long it took...whether it was a couple of days or a week. I anticipate there could be problems since I hadn't driven in five years (but had a clean 25 year record previous to that) but I had no issues. Your problem might be worth investigating...maybe you had your ID stolen w/o realizing it and someone racked up some tickets or something like that? Or it could be a computer glitch.Who knows. It's definitely not the normal experience based on mine and several people I know. |

Thanks. I think it's fishy too but don't think there's any way my driver's license could have been used to sully my driving record (it hasn't gone missing and I haven't been contacted or anything). Anyway I got my records and they're absolutely clean.
I just called them again to see if anyone could help me and it's just a call center, they have no ability to help. I just have to wait. So frustrating. I really wanted to start driving this week. |
