We live in NoVa and I'm looking for a place for kids' ski lessons this winter. Child is 6. Thank you!

Liberty. There's a ski day camp too.

We’ve played hooky to do “group” lessons at liberty and we’ve ended up with private because there were so few people there.

Liberty is good because they have a "three person" lesson where the instructor, the parent, and the child ski together. The parent learns how to help kids on and off the lift, etc.

Our 6-year-old had a great time at Liberty. Ski school for 2 hours, then hit the slopes. She did the kid classes.

Liberty has full day camps. Very good for that age, though a bit pricey.

Consider making it a weekend trip. Snowshoe, 7springs, etc... we did this with my son when he was about that age. All day camp for a couple days did wonders for his ability and enjoyment of the sport. Can easily add lessons back home at one of the closer mountains or just ski with them.

+1. How my DD started, around 6. Are these still called "mommy and me" lessons?

Now they are called "Ski With Me". Just as well since I'm a dad and did them with my DS and DD. =)
