Capitol Heights Elementary School TAG program feedback?

I know that the school year has just started, but wondering how things are going so far? Curious if anyone can also talk about the experience in comparison to Highland Park. It seems they have a few specialty programs under one roof, so I am wondering how well it’s all being managed.

VERY interested in this, too. I had zero plans of moving my child from our neighborhood school to Highland Park, but I'm interested in what people have to see about CH.

We have been really pleased. This is our first year. Principal Lattimore is on it, very responsive, seems to run a tight ship but is accessible and really loved my the students and teachers. What sets it apart I think is it’s a really small school, tight knit. But so far it’s been very welcoming to new families like ours. Also, the teaching is more creative and the learning more hands on that we’ve had at other schools. My daughter has struggled with spelling for a long time and her teacher is taking plenty of time to do one on one work with her- something we never had at other schools. So far so good.

I’m so glad to hear this! I’ve also heard great things from acquaintances that have children there. I’m hoping we get in!
