MD Excise Tax credit for PEV - when/how do you draw down the credit?

I reviewed the paperwork but I’m confused as to whether the tax credit is something processed when you pay your annual taxes, or if it’s a check that you get soon after purchasing the car. Has anyone gone through this process and can advise?

We are buying a Pacifica hybrid in the next couple of weeks — if you have any tips on applying for the charging station credit too, would welcome that as well!

You file for the sales tax credit when you buy the car-- the dealer may even fill out most of the paperwork for you. The pot of $ to pay people gets replenished in July IIRC, so it can vary as to how long it takes to get paid.
