Colleague's son has the flu, unknown whether h1n1. Emergency room prescribed Tamiflu suspension, but she can't find it any where. Her son is under 3.
If anyone has any idea, please advise. TIA |
She should bring rx to a local compunding pharmacy...examples in DC - Morgan's, Grubbs. 90% of CVS will not make a liquid suspension out of the capsules. There apparently is a shortage of the premade liquid version that is why this is the best way to go.
Vienna Drugs in Vienna Va can also do it. The CVS on K street, NW (1900 block, I believe) used to be able to do it too (6 years ago), but I haven't checked recently.
also that pharmacy on 29 (lee hgwy) across from the wendy's......cant think of name....

Medicine Chest in McLean. Just got mine there.
Try either Walmart or Walgreens -- they have both stated a committment to making sure they can provide the suspension in recent weeks.
