Transit survey-Maryland

Anonymous
Got this on Next Door. I use the Ride On buses sometimes, but lots of people I know don't use it because service can be so infrequent (ex: 30 minute wait after 9 a.m.) and the Ride On app often shows the wrong arrival times so people don't depend on it. Why would Maryland want to survey only the transit users if they want to plan transit services? More people would use it if it improved....

Ride On Initiates Survey to Guide Planning for Transit Services
To help guide ongoing efforts to plan transit services, Ride On will be distributing a short survey to passengers, beginning September 18 and continuing through the end of October.

Data collected will assist Ride On in planning transit services and complying with federal transit requirements. Individual survey answers will be kept confidential.

The survey complies with federal Title VI requirements. To qualify for transit grants, the Federal Transit Administration requires that transit systems collect bus rider demographic and travel behavior data, every five years.

The survey is available only on Ride On buses, on a random basis. Survey questions will address trip information and customer characteristics, including questions about race, ethnicity, language and income. Surveys will be available in multiple languages including English, Spanish, Chinese, French, Korean, Vietnamese, and Amharic.
