Can't figure out why no one ever makes comments (good or bad) on Concord Hill??

We have friends who's kids went to Concord Hill and loved it. Kids got in to Sidwell later. I also have a friend who taught there many many years ago before she became a SAHM. As to why no one talks about it, I think its locations is a bit out of the way for large swaths of DC, maybe? or the size? its seems to be a niche Chevy Chase-DC school for some reason. Hey, don't spread it around. Hidden gems are the best in this town!

Concord Hill is truly a school where at least one parent or a nanny picks up the child. If you look at the schedule you will see this. There is no aftercare. Their outplacement is good and the teachers are excellent. You either love or hate the director. It's very traditional. Maybe a notch below Primary Day in terms of structure and on the other end of the spectrum from schools like Green Acres, Lowell, or Burgundy.

PP here: also there is hardly any diversity. Go tour. It's about as white as you can get. Not saying this is good or bad. Just what it is at that school.

What were exmissions like for 2008?

We toured and talked to the admissions staff, teachers, and families. We really wanted to like it because we preferred a "neighborhood school." But, it just paled in comparison to the other schools that we visited and applied to. Honestly, the best thing that I could say about it was that it was cute (from the outside).

Obviously we didn't choose it, so maybe it's the kind of program that you have to get to know to appreciate?
