So how empty was the redskin stadium?

It looked like there was no one there. A friend said they saw tickets on groupon. I know the tv coverage can be deceptive...for those who went was it as bad as it seemed?

It’s all over the national news.

Curse of Dan Snyder. Finally hitting him where it hurts in the pocketbook.

They did a wide shot and there were so many empty seats.its a combo of too expensive seats and fan decline.

So much for Dan Snyder lying to everyone about the season tickets being sold out for twenty plus years. Jerk. Now he is feeling the ramifications of treating the fans like dirt. Besides, the team stinks.

They even made it Girl Scout day - trying to encourage extra ticket sales from Scouts.

Alex Ovechkin was there.

I checked stub hub after the game started and nosebleed seats were 50-70 bucks - in an empty stadium. That's crazy. I can't imagine how much they were through the actual team.

I simply don't care about them anymore.

Dan Snyder sucks. Long time Redskins fan are worn down and tired of him. He's run the team into the ground to milk every penny h can out of them, with no long term eye to the future. I don't think things will ever improve until he sells the team, which may never happen.

Also, they need to ditch the racist name. It's beyond time. I grew up a Redskins fan, will always root for them, but it gets harder with each passing year to do anything that gives them money (aka: buy my kid's Redskins shirts).

Then why oh why are you still enabling them?

Ticket sales are such a small portion of income for NFL teams. they get their money from the TV deals. They do not care if the stadium is full or not, they get their money and a lot of it from the TV deals.

Embarrassing yes, but who is really laughing?

How am I enabling them? I don't go to games, I don't buy their stuff.

Well, those were the ones that didn't sell because the holders priced too high.

I think attendance should be distinguished from tickets sold. If the tickets were being sold on Stub hub, doesn't that mean that they were technically sold and the owners were trying to resell the seats? How many tickets were unsold and available for purchase directly from the team on game day? I doubt any.
