This isn't that unusual, other than her being brazen about it. Haven't you seen that episode of Seinfeld, where George get women interested in him by showing them a picture of his "girlfriend" (a model that he cut out of a magazine)? If a woman knows that other women are interested in a man, it makes him more attractive.
