I am waiting to get the H1N1 for dd until preservative free is available.

Anyone else? any info on when it might be available?

As an expectant mom, I got the "trace" preservative version in DC on Tuesday. I thought it was better to get the vaccine early (it takes up to two weeks to work!), and I felt the trace preservative was worth the risk. It's a minute quantity of mercury compared to the standard preservative shot.

Also, I thought the nasal sprays were all preservative-free?

Yep, the nasal spray is preservative free. If your DD is old enough, give them the spray.

BTW, by "old enough", that means over 2 yrs old.

I see no need to wait. I'll get what they have when they have it.

Is this the Novartis brand? Did you have to ask for it?

Just something to think about:

My concern about waiting is that the federal government might consider adding adjuvants such as squalene to the next production cycle if it finds there is not enough vaccine to go around (they are studying its safety now). I'd rather deal with thimerosal than adjuvants, which the FDA admits might have a link to autoimmune disease.
