A friend of mine is looking for the vax, she has kidney disease and works for the Library of Congress. Do you think she is considered a "Congressional Employee" for the purposes of this vaccination?
Swine Flu Vaccines Now Available On The Hill http://www.rollcall.com/news/39750-1.html They list the locations for Congressional employees who are at high risk to get the vaccine. Then they define at-risk as being pregnant, live with infants less than 6 months, or are under the age of 18 with a high risk condition. |

I am guessing she is not since it says:
'In an advisory sent to staffers Tuesday, Attending Physician Brian Monahan said that as his office gets more vaccines, it will offer them to more groups. Up-to-date information on where and when vaccines are being offered is available here for those in the Capitol complex. “Eventually,” he wrote in the advisory, “anyone with a Congressional identification card will be able to receive the vaccine.”' |
| It sounds like they were pretty strict about who got the shot yesterday. Just the first line priorities -- kids (which there probably were very few of), pregnant women, and parents of kids under 6 months. I heard a lot of adults with health issues were turned away. |
I don't think she's considered a Congressional employee. LOC has a whole different employment system than Congress. |
| I hope your friend finds a shot. Kudos to congress for not looking like it's all about rank, but looking to the "new" CDC guidelines. |
