The following message is posted on our pediatrician's website. What are we supposed to do?
SEASONAL AND H1NI FLU UPDATES – AS OF OCTOBER 21, 2009 Capitol Medical Group is currently out of its supply of the H1N1 vaccine. While we are expecting another shipment from the government, we have not been provided a date of arrival. Please check daily for updates. Our last shipment was restricted by the government to the highest priority groups identified by the CDC. Under the new shipment, we expect the same rules to apply - offering it only to household members of our infant patients under 6 months old who also have a child under 3 living in the house. This group includes parents and children living in the home full time and one full-time caregiver. As circumstances permit, we will reevaluate to determine whether or not the vaccine can be offered to more of our patients who meet the CDC priority guidelines. |

What's that about households of kids under 6 months and ALSO a child under 3? I never saw that before.

| Do you really need to start another post here about this and ask people what you need to do? Really? If you want the shot then you need to find it somewhere else. What else are you expecting people to tell you? |
That's specific to Capitol Medical Group, I believe. Basically, they probably got like 50 shots and had to figure out how to narrow down their patient list to the tiniest number possible. And to the OP, I'm another CMG patient, and here's what you do. You go to a clinic and you wait for ages and you get the FluMist for yourself and your husband. So far there hasn't been a problem with FluMist supply (they've only been running out of the injectable shot). List of clinics -- call ahead, stuff changes -- http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/metro/flu_shots.html |
| Thanks to the 22:32 poster. It looks like the DC clinics locations are giving priority to youth and pregnant woman. Do we have to show proof of residency to get the vaccine in MD or VA? |
the clinics have not required residency |
