Other family in nanny share sick and had H1N1 exposure.

One of the children of the other family in the share started acting sick today and half her class is out with H1N1 this week. So far we're talking about what looks to be a cold or mild flu. Our agreement with the other family was that if the kids had colds, it happens and we bring them anyway. If the kids were really sick: throwing up, fever, etc the parent of the sick child wouldn't bring that child and the nanny would keep the healthy kids. We have a 5 month old infant and I am worried about him being around this sick kid tomorrow but the other mother says that her child might just have a cold. Not sure what to do. I don't want my baby around a kid that might have swine flu. I need some feedback. How would you handle it?

I would call my office and take a sick day to stay home with my infant. I don't understand how else it could be handled.

I agree.

I agree with the other posters that if at all possible you or DH should take a couple of sick days and stay home w/ the baby until you are sure whether it is just a cold or more.

OP here. The child spiked a high fever last night and started throwing up. The other mom called us to say her DD woulnd't be coming, but we were prepared to take the day off to keep our kids at home.
