Help! What to wear this Friday

I am going to my birthday dinner this Friday. I want to look cute but not too dressy. I have a tight budget and a pudgy post-baby figure, so I don't want to spend too much money on a new outfit. I bought a simple black "wrap" dress from Target. What do I wear with it in terms of hosiery/shoes/accessories? Or any other outfit ideas I could get from my exisitnd wardrobe (very basic work trousers, sweaters. etc.)?
