DCUM Shoppers: help me find some black pants!

Anonymous
I would like to buy a pair of slim black ankle-length pants that I can wear to my dressy business casual office.

I am 5’5, 140 pounds, and wear a size 8. I am long-torsoed (so no low rise or petites), but short-legged (I will likely need to hem), and definitely pear-shaped with muscular legs and a relatively flat stomach. I would say I am curvy, but “curvy” cuts are generally too wide for me. I am 38 if that matters.

I am a divorced parent with some custody of a 5 year old, so I don’t have a lot of time to go try a whole bunch of options are at the mall, but I am willing to order and return a bunch of online options. Ultimately, I’d like to stay under $100 for these pants.

BR Sloan. Only work pants I wear. Fit your description. You won’t need to hem the short (or maybe even the regular).

Maybe LOFT pants? I love them for work. I'm petite so I love their petite pants but they have regular too. I love that they are washable. They have several different cuts -- "julie" cut (the curvy one) works for me, but you should try them out.

These are my favorite work pants. 5'4 size 8, I have both petite and regular. I have 6 pairs, two in black.

Buy these: https://shop.mango.com/us/women/pants-skinny/crop-slim-fit-trousers_33080497.html?c=99&n=1&s=search

I am a similar build to you and am obsessed. They have just enough stretch so they don't look misshapen by the end of the day.

I just got some GREAT black pants at the BR Outlet in National Harbor. They were $31!

I'm your same build and have luck with the Ann Taylor Modern Fit Ankle pants in size 8 (sometimes 6 if I'm having a skinny day). They also come in curvy fit.

I found the BR Sloanes to stretch out too much by the end of the day.

I really like the Everlane ponte pants: https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-stretch-ponte-skinny-pant-black

They also come in a cropped length.

+1 for the BR Sloan pant. Also got some J Crew Maddie pants in twill and they are very nice too, similar style.

Uniqlo has some nice styles that are classic and conservative.

I live in WHBM black pants. You’d probably be a size 6.

I agree - you will probably be able to find what you are looking for at Loft. You would probably be a 6 there since it tends to run big.
