The other night my kids were talking about what they’d eliminate if they could wish for anything. My son said “lockdown drills,” then clarified that he meant actual lockdowns. He just started kindergarten.

My kids are 9 & 11 and hate lockdown drills. They had a real one when that man in Bethesda/Chevy Chase shot his wife a year or two ago.

But hey Americans love guns more than people.

My kid's school is having a lockdown drill today. They called us last night to give us a heads-up. It made me feel so angry and helpless and frustrated. She's five.

Sigh. My son had this first drill this week. He's 6. Not many things get to me but this always does. Breaks my heart.
